Legal & Independence
Publication information
Evidence First is an independent publication and maintained web companion.
Independent publication
Evidence First is independently developed and authored by Lello Molinario. References to standards bodies, public agencies, professional guidance, software platforms, operating-system vendors, infrastructure providers or forensic-tool vendors identify source material or technical context only. They do not imply sponsorship, certification, approval, affiliation or endorsement of Evidence First.
Operational use
The guides support professional decision-making around digital evidence. They do not replace applicable law, legal authority, organizational policy, laboratory procedures, safety requirements, tool validation, training or competent professional judgment. A Card should be read in the context of the observed state, the authority under which the operator is acting, and any applicable local procedure.

Unless otherwise stated, the original text, editorial structure, Card architecture, decision models, State Maps, diagrams, graphics, forms, publication design and other original Evidence First content are protected by copyright. No part may be reproduced, distributed, republished or adapted except as permitted by applicable law or with prior written permission.
Third-party material and trademarks
Third-party names, trademarks, service marks, product names, standards identifiers and logos remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance is solely for identification, reference, source attribution or technical context. No use should be understood as granting rights in those marks or as implying endorsement by their owners.
External sources and edition integrity
External links are provided to primary-source records where practical. Source status, technical capabilities and platform behavior can change after an edition is published. Decision-relevant changes are recorded through the maintained Updates and References pages rather than silently rewriting a published edition.
Privacy and cookies
Privacy and cookie information is maintained separately so that changes in website functionality can be documented without altering this legal and editorial notice.
